Summer Internships
WildCare offers Internships to 7 students each summer. Interns have a unique opportunity to be actively involved in all facets of wildlife rehabilitation. Interns take part in fielding phone calls, admissions, initial assessments, food preparation, cage cleaning and feeding an incredible variety of Oklahoma wildlife. Interns also are responsible for monitoring the progress of the animals in their care and take part in the Release Program.
Educational moments abound for WildCare interns. Interns take part in our outreach programs and actively engage in environmental conflict resolution through our phone support. Interns also learn leadership skills as they work closely with the public and WildCare Volunteers.
At the end of the internship they will come away with a life-changing experience. They will have touched lives that they had only seen in field guides. They will see first hand the challenges wildlife face each and every day.
