Facility
Building
WildCare prepares and
stores food in the remaining space of the Director’s garage.
This 460-square-foot space is crowded with freezers,
refrigerators, food storage, and laundry facilities.
It is one of two areas with running hot and cold water and is the
primary location for all dish washing and general cleaning.
This area is not climate-controlled, so the staff and volunteers
not only have to deal with the daily chores but also with making sure
that the water line doesn’t freeze in winter.
Keeping cool in the summer is also a concern.
WildCare needs a
facility building where the public has access.
They want to see the babies as they are being cared for but
without disturbing them. We
need to make everyone feel that they have brought that one animal that
they found to the best possible facility where it will receive the best
chance for surviving out in the wild.
WildCare is
networking with other rehabilitation facilities around the country to
determine the best possible floor plan to meet the needs of the public,
the staff and volunteers, and most importantly, the animals.
