Give a Buck to save a Doe

10-4 Rob MorrisOne hurdle after another, this fawn has leaped them all but we have one more that she can’t see to jump!

Born in early October this little fawn has had lots of hurdles.

She was orphaned only a few days after birth. Hurdle crossed when she arrived at WildCare October 4th.
Born 4 months late this infant has had to grow a winter coat very quickly to keep warm at night. Hurdle jumped as her spots have been replaced with her winter coat.

Her eyes have been cloudy from the start. Now at 2 months old it has been confirmed that she has cataracts in both eyes. This hurdle she can’t even see. She needs your help to leap this one!

Dr. Gwin, a veterinarian ophthalmologist has agreed to perform cataract surgery on both eyes at a tremendously reduced price! But WildCare will need to raise $700 before the surgery scheduled for Monday Dec 21st.

This is where we need your help! Every dollar you donate will make her life clearer! Every dollar helps! $700 may seem like a lot but if we all GIVE A BUCK TO SAVE A DOE she will be able to see clearly all of life’s obstacle.

Email a friend, tell a co-worker, then make a donations through PayPal on our Web site www.WildCareOklahoma.org or they can be mailed directly to WildCare, 7601 84th St, Noble, Ok 73068. A New Beginning

On January 2, 2003, Wildecare received its first injured animal of the year and made the year’s first release. Last year, Wildcare accepted over 3,100 animals; last year, as I type, we have one admitted. A raccoon wandered up to a house looking for food. The homeowner called Wildcare thinking that we might have had an escape or someone lost a pet but that was not the case. After examining this young raccoon, his left hind foot appeared to have a bite to it and was swollen. He is now receiving antibiotics and is recovering in a pen near other raccoons.

The first release of the new year was a robin. This bird went from having no head feathers as a fledgling to a fully feathered sleek juvenile that was flying with ease throughout the nursery. After several failed attempts to net the robin, we finally decided to leave the door open and let the robin decide for himself when it was time to go. Ten minutes passed and there it went flying, on its own into the great wide open for the first time to enjoy life the way it was meant to be.
